In Verona, Romeo and Juliet love each other but
their families hate each other. They are married
in a secret ceremony. Romeo intervenes to end a
fight, which results in him killing another and
being banished. Juliet's mother tells her to marry
Paris, a man her family has chosen for her. To escape
this marriage, Juliet is advised to take a potion
which will cause her to appear dead. The message,
detailing the plan to rescue Juliet from her families
burial vault, does not reach Romeo. Hearing of his
wife's apparent death, Romeo returns to Verona overcome
with grief. After killing Paris, Romeo drinks poison
to die at Juliet's side. When Juliet awakens and
finds Romeo dead, she is also overcome with grief
and kills herself. Romeo and Juliet's families arrive
at the vault. Realizing that their feud has lead
to this tragedy, they make peace with each other.
