Macbeth and Banquo are generals in the army of Scottish
King Duncan. They meet three witches who prophesy
Macbeth will become thane and Banquo's heirs will
become kings. When Macbeth is made thane of Cawdor,
he believes the rest of the prophecy will also come
true. Duncan spends a night at Dunsinane, Macbeth's
castle, and is murdered by Macbeth. The murder is
discovered by Macduff and fearing for their lives,
Duncan's sons Donalbain and Malcolm leave the country.
Macbeth becomes king and murders Banquo, whose son
escapes. The army advances on Dunsinane, Macbeth
is killed in battle and Malcolm becomes King.
