Julius Caesar enters Rome as a war hero, having
defeated enemies of Rome. Mark Antony has already
attempted to crown Caesar the emperor of Rome. Some
Senators fear Caesar's ambition and that he will
become a tyrannical ruler of Rome. Caesar's popularity
makes plotting against him difficult. Caesar's friend
Brutus has to chose between his friendship with
Caesar and loyalty to Rome. He agrees to the murder
of Caesar, but persuades the other conspirators
to spare the life of Mark Antony. Ignoring warnings
from the Oracle and his wife, Julius Caesar goes
to the Senate where he is murdered. At the funeral
Mark Antony makes a speech, which gains him support
and he plots his revenge against the conspirators.
Brutus and Mark Antony each raise armies which meet
on the battle field. Defeated, Brutus kills himself
rather than be captured. Mark Antony finds the body
of Brutus and laments his death.
