After introducing Margaret to Henry, Suffolk is
made into a Duke. Gloucester opposes the marriage
and is plotted against by Suffolk. Falsely charged,
Gloucester is arrested. York is sent to stop a revolt
in Ireland, where he raises support for his own
cause from Jack Cade. Gloucester is murdered and
Suffolk is banished for the crime, in spite of support
from Margaret with whom Suffolk has been having
an affair. Suffolk is captured and killed by pirates
whilst on the way to France. Jack Cade marches on
London, Henry retreats and Buckingham stops Cade's
rebellion. York returns from Ireland and declares
war on Henry.
