This play is set during the seventh year of the
Trojan War. Troilus is the youngest son of King
Priam and Cressida is the daughter of Calchas, a
Trojan priest. A romance between Troilus and Cressida
is encouraged by Pandarus, Cressida's uncle. Calchas
deserts Troy and supplies information to the Greeks,
who exchange a Trojan prisoner for his daughter
Cressida. Troilus sees Cressida with another man,
when he attends a meeting of Trojan and Greek generals,
and vows revenge. The play ends with the war unfinished
and Troilus and Cressida no longer lovers.
