Antonio, aided by King Alonso of Naples, seized
the Dukedom of Milan from his brother Prospero.
Set adrift at sea with his daughter Miranda, they
are washed up on an island where Prospero masters
two native sprits, Ariel and Caliban. Using his
magic, Prospero causes a tempest which causes Antonio,
Alonso and others to be ship wrecked on the island.
Miranda and the King's son Ferdinand meet and fall
in love. Antonio's plan to kill the King and claim
the crown is thwarted. Eventually those who have
done wrong repent, Prospero regains his Dukedom
and they all return to Naples on the undamaged ship
which was thought destroyed.
