Duke Frederick has taken the throne from his older
brother, Duke Senior. Senior is hiding in the Forest
of Arden with his supporters, whilst his daughter,
Rosalind, remains at court. Orlando and Oliver are
brothers who hate each other and when Rosalind is
drawn to Orlando, Oliver's hatred grows. Orlando
seeks safety in Arden with his servant Adam, and
joins Senior. Rosalind is banished to Arden and
leaves with her best friend Celia, Frederick's daughter.
Eventually Oliver and Orlando resolve their differences.
Orlando and Rosalind marry as do Oliver and Celia.
Duke Frederick repents and gives the throne back
to Duke Senior.
